The Bulgarian National Audit Office was certified under ISO/27001 - Information security management

The Bulgarian National Audit Office received the international certificate ISO / IEC 27001:2013, which shows that the institution has implemented an information security management system. The certificate was awarded to the BNAO President Mr. Tzvetan Tzvetkov.

Obtaining certification under the international standard ISO 27001 demonstrates to the public that the Audit institution ensures adequate control and preservation of confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information it stores and operates with.

The BNAO operates with data and stores important information in relation to its audit activity under the NAO Act and other specific legislation. The certification scope therefore includes the implementation of information security management system in conducting audits for control over the implementation of the budget and other public resources and activities in accordance with the NAO Act and the internationally adopted auditing standards, as well as in carrying out administrative activities under the Public Procurement Act, the Concessions Act, the Political Parties Act and the Election Code.

The Bulgarian National Audit Office invested a lot of efforts and has already achieved its modern look of a digitalized Supreme Audit Institution of the 21st century, where the audit activity is carried out entirely with specialized software, pointed out Mr. Tzvetan Tzvetkov upon receiving the certificate.
